    6-year-old hit by school bus in Blount County

    BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — A 6-year-old boy was taken to UT Medical Center Thursday morning after he was struck by a school bus as he was waiting for it, according to the Blount County Sheriff’s Office.

    BCSO released details about the crash Thursday afternoon, saying the boy was being treated for “non-life threatening injuries.”

    Deputies responded to the scene on Peabody Drive around 7:15 a.m. Thursday following the report that the boy, a student at Carpenters Elementary School, was struck by the bus while waiting for it. The boy was taken by ambulance to UT Medical Center.

    BCSO said deputies are continuing to investigate the accident, but as of Thursday evening, no charges have been filed.

    This story lacks details. Where was the kid standing/sitting while waiting on the bus. Was there any adult supervision?
