    Driver injured in crash with school bus near Jefferson County High School

    DANDRIDGE, Tenn. ( WATE ) — A school bus was involved in a crash Friday morning that resulted in the driver of the other involved vehicle to be taken to a nearby hospital, according to the Dandridge Police Department.

    DPD Detective Lt. Kevin Bunch shared that deputies responded to a crash involving a pick-up truck and a school bus near Jefferson County High School in Dandridge at around 7:45 a.m. on Highway 92. Witnesses told police that the pick-up truck was traveling south and failed to yield and struck the bus on the passenger side.

    Thirty-two students were aboard the bus when the crash occurred. None of the students nor the bus driver were injured.

    The driver of the pick-up truck was taken to Jefferson Memorial Hospital with injuries, but Bunch said the extent of the injuries were unknown.
