KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — As roads begin to reopen following widespread flooding in East Tennessee, WATE’s Bo Williams is breaking down the current closures and upcoming construction projects impacting drivers this weekend.

While I-40 near the North Carolina line remains closed, those who want to travel to North Carolina are encouraged to take I-81 North to Virginia and then take I-77 South into North Carolina. Several agencies are also reminding commercial vehicles are not allowed on US 441/Newfound Gap Road.
