    Blount County Sheriff’s Office investigating former Heritage High School teacher

    MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Blount County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a former teacher at Heritage High School.

    While BCSO has not shared the nature of the investigation, Blount County Schools confirmed Shane Rewis was a teacher and coach at Heritage High School, but is no longer employed by the school system. 6 News has requested Rewis’s personnel file.

    At this time, no charges have been filed.

    Blount County Commission may ask state lawmakers to strip licenses from teachers convicted of abuse

    This is the second teacher within Blount County Schools to be investigated recently. In September, Joseph Dalton pleaded guilty to five counts of offensive touching assault related to incidents that took place in 2023.
