Knoxville Police investigating shooting, robbery at West Knoxville bar

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. ( WATE ) — An investigation is underway at a West Knoxville bar after a shooting and robbery Wednesday night that left a Florida man injured, according to the Knoxville Police Department. The search for at least two suspects is continuing.

KPD stated in a news release Thursday morning that at around 10:30 p.m. Oct. 16, officers responded to the BucketHead Tavern on Ray Mears Boulevard , where they found the victim, a 61-year-old man from Florida, had been shot multiple times in the parking lot. He was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, KPD said, “for treatment for injuries that are not expected to be life-threatening.”

According to KPD, detectives on the scene learned that the victim had exited the bar and was confronted at gunpoint in the parking lot by at least two currently unidentified suspects.

“The victim was shot, and the suspects left the scene in the victim’s car, a red Cadillac XT6,” KPD said. “The victim’s vehicle was found abandoned this morning on Atlantic Avenue. Efforts remain ongoing to identify the suspects.”
