WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — A car caught fire after colliding head-on with another vehicle Saturday night in Waterbury.

Yesterday around 11:30 p.m. in the area of 3077 North Main St., a 2017 Infiniti driven by a 27-year-old man crashed head-on with a 2018 Mercedes that was being operated by a 46-year-old woman. Two other occupants, ages 36 and 63 were also in the Mercedes.

Waterbury police say all victims involved were able to exit their vehicles before the front end of the Infiniti erupted into flames. The fire department was called to extinguish the fire and those involved were taken to local hospitals for non -life-threatening injuries.

Officials also say all occupants of the Mercedes were New York residents. This crash is under investigation by the Waterbury Crash Reconstruction Unit.
