This has been my biggest complaint after driving a rig for 35 years now retired. I’ve seen to many of these accidents happen because of drivers afraid of getting a ticket for not properly doing a pre trip inspection. Wheels coming flying off of rigs when no one is around as the wheel sits in the road waiting for its victims. To many lives are lost because of it I think it’s about time to start putting ID tags on every commercial wheel so that truck who lost the wheel can easily be tracked down.
