WATERFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Be prepared for some new rules during your next trip to Waterford Beach.

Connecticut State Parks close water bodies due to bacteria levels

Starting July 4 and continuing until the end of the summer, there will no longer be paid parking taken at the gatehouse entry point on weekends and holidays, according to Waterford police.

All cars with season pass tickets for the town, and out of town, will be allowed in. When the parking lot reaches capacity at 300 vehicles, others won’t be able to enter.

Walk-ins are not impacted by the new rules, and neither will Waterford seniors (unless the parking lot is full).
