Maryland woman, dual organ donor advocates for bill to give tax break to donors
A Maryland woman is advocating for a bill aimed at increasing the number of live organ donors. Lindsay Gutierrez, originally from Oklahoma, served in security forces for the U.S. Air Force from 2010 to 2016. WASHINGTON — Police are still searching for suspects in a shooting that left a man dead near the Sycamore and Oak shopping center in Southeast D.C. Sunday evening. Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the 1200 block of Oak Drive Southeast for a reported shooting just before 6 p.m. When officers got to the scene, they found a man shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police later identified the man killed as 32-year-old D'Andre Dixon of Southeast.
