Broken Bow Falls to Central City in Area 6 Tournament
The Broken Bow American Legion seniors baseball team fell to Central City 8-1 Saturday at the Class B Area 6 tournament. Central City led 1-0 after three innings but then scored six runs in the fourth inning to pull away. Central City had the bases loaded with nobody out to start the inning but it looked like Broken Bow might limit the damage and get out of the jam with the score 2-0 with 2 outs. However, Central City was able to add five runs with two out to extend the lead. The Broken Bow offense was kept in check finishing with 1 run on five hits. Bow’s lone run of the game came in the bottom of the fourth when Brice Chaplin came across the plate to score. Coy Wardyn had two of Broken Bow’s five hits finishing 2 for 3 on the night.
