WATERLOO — For those looking for something to do this July 4th, Fireman’s park in Waterloo will be packed with events and activities for all ages.

“It’s a great community event,” Gabe Haberkorn, the Waterloo Parks Coordinator, said. “There’s something for everybody.”

This event will be especially enjoyable for baseball lovers, as there will be three baseball games throughout the day. Nevertheless, there will still be activities even for those who aren’t baseball fans, including bingo at the VFW all afternoon, a comedy magician and live music from the several bands.

Additionally, during the last baseball game, there will be a hot dog eating contest, which Haberkorn said is open to anyone who thinks they can win. However, for those not interested in the eating competition, there will be food available all day at a carnival truck as well as from local churches.

At the end of the day, attendees can watch the fireworks go off over the river from the baseball field.
