    Boonville holds off Watertown for PGCBL victory

    WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – Carter Storti racked up four runs batted in as the Boonville Lumberjacks held off the Watertown Rapids for a 9-6 Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League victory Thursday night at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.

    Former Rapids player Jax Miller tripled and drove in a run for Boonville (6-12), which split a home-and-home series with Watertown (7-13). Cole Bakkum earned the pitching victory with six innings of work as the Lumberjacks scored nine of the game’s first 10 runs.

    Brendan Wilson doubled, tripled and plated three runs while Nick Bergamotto drove in two runs for Watertown, which posted five runs in the bottom of the seventh. Evan Froelich took the loss for the Rapids.

    Watertown hosts the Albany Baseball Club at 6:30 p.m. tonight and then is home again for a Sunday game against the Utica Blue Sox at 5 p.m.
