Six area teams qualify for tourneys March 14-16 at Rapid City (Class A) and Aberdeen (Class B)

Six area teams punched their tickets to state Class A and B boys basketball tournaments with victories in SoDak 16 state-qualifying games on Tuesday.

No. 2 seed Hamlin (20-3), No. 3 Sioux Valley (21-2) and No. 7 Groton Area (19-4) will compete in the Class A state tournament March 14-16 in the Summit Arena at The Momument in Rapid CIty.

No. 2 De Smet (20-3), No. 3 Castlewood (20-3) and No. 6 Leola-Frederick Area (22-1) will play in the state Class B tourney March 14-16 at the Barnett Center in Aberdeen.

Class A

• No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian (23-0) vs. No. 8 Vermillion (16-7), 1 p.m.

• No. 4 Pine Ridge (21-1) vs. No. 5 Dakota Valley, 2:45 p.m.

• No. 2 Hamlin (20-3) vs. No. 7 Groton Area (19-4), 7 p.m.

• No. 3 Sioux Valley (21-2) vs. No. 6 Rapid City Christian (20-3), 8:45 p.m.

Class B

• No. 1 White River (21-2) vs. No. 8 Viborg-Hurley (18-5), noon

• No. 4 Wessington Springs (22-1) vs. No. 5 Howard (20-3), 1:45 p.m.

• No. 2 De Smet (20-3) vs. No. 7 Gregory (19-4), 6 p.m.
