    S.D. Football Coaches Association All-Star Game loads up with area players

    BROOKINGS — Twenty-five northeastern South Dakota seniors have been selected to play in the South Dakota Football Coaches Association's 2024 All-Star Football Game on Saturday, June 8 at South Dakota State University's Dana Dykhouse Stadium.

    There is free admission for the game, which is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.

    The game is for seniors who have completed their high school football careers. Sponsors include the South Dakota National Guard, South Dakota Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Visit Brookings.

    Area players on the Blue-White team include Avery Ligon and Bryce Beitelspacher of Aberdeen Central, Ethan DeSpiegler and Nate Tchida of Sisseton, Garrett Mertens and Jayden Johnson of Milbank, Holden Sippel and Logan Ringgenberg of Groton Area, Jameson Nebel and Luke Fraser of Hamlin, Brodey Sauerwein and Hunter Cramer of Warner, Chet Peterson and Trevor Heinz of Ipswich, Josh Schaunaman of Aberdeen Roncalli, Justin Ratigan of Redfield, Noah Paulson of Florence-Henry, and Robert Begalka of Deuel.

    Area players on the Red team are Gavin Landmark and Jake Jorenby of Deubrook Area, Adam Heyn of Castlewood, Hudsyn Ruesink of Sioux Valley, Cody Thompson of Waverly-South Shore and Chance Smith and Ryder Falkenhagen of Potter County.

    Area coaches Brian Allmendinger of Milbank (Blue-White) and Nathan Lamb of Deubrook Area (Red) will serve as the head coaches. Aberdeen Central's Justin Briese will be an assistant for the Blue-White team.
