    Top performers' list includes athletes from track, golf, softball, baseball and tennis

    Here's a list of some of the top Watertown and Aberdeen area performers from May 13-19:

    Boys Track and Field

    Boaz Raderschadt and Owen Spartz, Watertown — Raderschadt won the boys' shot put (56-11.25) and discus (163-0) and Spartz tied his school record a second-place vault of 15 feet, 9 inches in a meet at Brandon Valley. Raderschadt also won the shot put (56-11) and discus (154-11) in the Mark Wendelgass Relays at Huron.

    Kyson Fayant, Aberdeen Central — Fayant took the 110 (16.67) and 300 (42.0) hurdles and also ran on the winning 1,600 (3:29.38) relays in the Mark Wendelgass Relays.

    Carson Mount, Brent Bearman and Gavin Witt, Webster Area — Mount, Bearman and Witt ran on the winning 400-meter (45.2), 800-meter (1:32.73) and medley (3:51) relays in the Burnell Glanzer Relays at Armour.

    Gabe Johnson and Tim Rucker, North Central — Johnson won the 1,600 (4:58.04) and 3,200 (10:46.56) runs and also ran on the winning 3,200 relay (8:54) and Ruckertook the high jump (5-6), Triple jump (39-1) and ran on the winning 1,600 (3:56.22) in the Eureka Lions meet.

    Zac VanMeeteren and Cristhian Rodriguez, Hamlin —VanMeeteren won the 100 (11.11), 200 (22.48) and 400 (51.52) dashes and Rodriguez the shot put (46-8.75), discus (143-2) and javelin (161-3) in the Hamlin Last Chance meet. VanMeeteren also won the 100 (11.1), 200 (22.44) and 400 (50.58) dashes and ran on the winning 1,600 (3:30.99) relay in the Flandreau Last Chance meet.

    SoDak 16 Softball:Watertown, Aberdeen Central among 11 area teams playing for state-tournament berths

    Trevor Heinz and Kyle Hettich, Ipswich — Heinz won the long jump (21-9.25) and also ran on the winning 400 (44.11) and 800 (1:31.67) relays in the Hamlin Last Chance meet. Hettich won the 100 (11.3) and 200 (23.23) and ran on the winning 400 (44.64) and 800 (1:31.3) relays in the Super Region meet at Gettysburg. Heinz won the long jump (21-2) and ran on the same two relays.

    Landen Johnson and Gavin Landmark, Deubrook Area — Johnson won the 400-meter (4:46.04) and ran on the winning 1,600 (3:20.01), 3,200 (9:19.82) and medley (3:57.10) relays in the Dakota Valley Conference meet. Landmark took the 200 (2:06.06) dash and ran on the winning 1,600 and 3,200 relays.

    Matthew Mount, Webster Area — Mount took the shot put (50-9.5), Discus (147-5) and javelin (128-6) in the Webster Area Invite.

    Brayden Sumption, Frederick Area — Sumption ran on the winning 800 (1:35.83) and 1,600 (3:36.05) and also took the long jump (20.7.5) in the Dial-A-Move Last Chance meet in Warner.

    Girls Track and Field

    Breanna Jochim, Herreid-Selby Area — Jochim won the 100 (12.95) and 200 (26.35) dashes and the long jump (16-8) and also ran on the winning 400 (52.08) relay in the Eureka Lions meet. She also won the 100 (12.57) and ran on the winning 400 (51.47) and 800 (1:48.82) relays in the Super Region meet at Gettysburg.

    Laila Roberts, Kella Tracy and Rylee Dunker, Groton Area —The Tigers won the 400 (52.37), 800 (1:49.44), 1,600 (4:11.79) and medley (4:28.47) relays in the Hamlin Last Chance meet. Roberts ran on all three relays and Tracy and Dunker each three.

    Gracie Rife, Aberdeen Central — Rife won the 200-meter (26.01) dash and ran on the winning 400 relay (50.03) in the Mark Wendelgass Relays at Huron.

    Nevaeh Reitz, Johanna Vandersnick and Cadence Bochek, Clark-Willow Lake — These three runners ran on the winning 400 (52.45), 800 (1;49.74) and medley (4:17.75) relays in the Flandreau Last Chance meet.

    McKenna Tietz and Kella Tracy, Groton Area — Tietz won the 300 hurdles (50.25) and 200 dash (28.54) and also ran on the winning 400 (53.7) relay in the Webster Area Invitational. Tracy ran on the winning 400 (53.47), 800 (1:52.04) and 3,200 (10:11.55) relays)

    Shawnteah La Croix, Aberdeen Christian — La Croix won the 100 (12.5) and 200 (26.34) dashes and the long jump (15-10.25) in the Dial-A-Move Last Chance meet at Warner. She also ran on the winning 400 (52.07) relay.

    Boys Golf

    Lane Tvedt, Castlewood — Tvedt fired a 2-under par 70 to win the boys division in the Pre-Region 1B/Eastern Coteau Conference tournament at Cattail Crossing Golf Course. The Warriors also won the team title.

    Logan Vavruska, Florence-Henry —Vavruska took medalist honors in the ECC with a 1-over par 73.

    Girls Golf

    Brynn Roehrich, Clark-Willow Lake — Roehrich earned medalist honors and led the Cyclones to team titles in the Pre-Region 1B/ECC tournament at CCGC. She shot a 6-over 78 to win by five shots.

    Caitlyn Cradduck, Sioux Valley — Craddruck shot a 6-over 78 to win the Sioux Valley Invite by 12 shots.

    Olivia Braun, Emma Dohrer and Kyley Wirebaugh, Aberdeen Central — Braun won medalist honors with a 3-under 69 and Dohrer took second at 75 to lead Aberdeen Central to victory in the Watertown Invitational with a 308 score. Wirebaugh tied for third with a 78. The Golden Eagles also shot 321 and finished third in the Bill Scholten Invite at Brookings. Dohrer tied for second (74) and Braun (77) for seventh.

    Aspen Reynolds, Shelby Pearson and Avery Palmquist, Watertown — The Arrows shot 322 and finished second in the Watertown Invitational. Reynolds tied for third (78), followed by Pearson (sixth, 79) and Palmquist (tied for seventh, 80). Watertown also shot 313 and took second in the Bill Scholten Invite with Pearson tying for second (74) and Palmquist taking sixth (76).

    Softball

    Ashlynn Vavruska and Haley Hlavacek, Florence-Henry — Vavruska tossed a five-inning no-hitter with 14 strikeouts and also went 1-for-1 at the plate with two walks, three runs scored and two RBIs in a 16-2 win over Kingsbury County. She also went 3-for-4 with a double in a 14-3 win over Milbank. Hlavacek went 4-for-4 with a double, two homers, four runs scored and five RBIs against Milbank.

    Roxanne Raml and Katrina Hagberg, Deuel — The Cardinals handled Sisseton 17-1 with Raml going 3-for-3 with a double, triple, two runs and three RBIs. Hagberg tossed a three-inning no-hitter with seven strikeouts. Hagberg also recorded 13 strikeouts in a 7-3 loss to Chester and nine strikeouts in a 9-2 loss to Castlewood.

    Michelle Merkel, Amber Vetch, Elsy Larsen and Grace Overland, Mobridge-Pollock — The Tigers split with Winner, losing 5-4 and winning 7-3. Merkel homered in the loss and Vetch went 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs and two RBIs in the win. Larsen hit an inside-the-park grand slam homer and Overland tossed two three-inning no-hitters with 14 strikeouts in 16-0 and 19-0 wins over Lakota Tech.

    Larsen also went 4-for-5 in a 15-8 win over Redfield and Merkel 2-for-2 with a double, homer and four RBIs.

    Chloe Zens, Mady Morrissette and Kylie Hermann, Redfield — Redfield beat Milbank 12-6 and 13-6 with Zens going 4-for-4 with two runs and seven RBIs in the opener. She hit a run-scoring double early, tied the game at 5-5 with a three-run, inside-the-park homer and snapped a 6-6 tie with a three-run double. She also went 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored in Game 2. Morrisette went 3-for-3 in the second game with two runs and three RBIs.

    Zens also went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a triple and three RBIs in a 15-8 loss to Mobridge-Pollock and fired a three-inning no-hitter in a 31-0 win over Chamberlain. Hermann went 3-for-3 with a double, four runs and rive RBIs against Chamberlain.

    Joce Kettwig, Josie Riveland and Ashlynn Lamp, Milbank — Kettwig went 4-for-7 with a triple and two RBIs in the doubleheader losses against Redfield. Lamp got the win on the mound in a 16-6 victory over Colman-Egan and Riveland triple and drove in three runs.

    Lauryn Hirsch, Watertown — Hirsch went 2-for-3 with a double in a 5-2 loss to Harrisburg.

    Kylee Hoffman, Aberdeen Central — Hoffman went 2-for-2 in a 16-0 loss to Harrisburg.

    Riley Stirling, Amelia Jacobson, Abby Axtell and Savana Guthmiller, Sioux Valley — Sioux Valley swept Sisseton 17-2 and 11-0 with Stirling going 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBIs in the first game and Jacobson 3-for-3 with a double, triple and five RBIs in the second game. In an 8-1 win over Oldham-Ramonta-Rutland, Axtell allowed only two hits in five innings on the mound and Guthmiller homered.

    Ellisyn Vincent, Harley Johnson and Addie and Jo Steffensen, Arlington — The Cardinals beat Milbank 11-1 Colman-Egan 19-3 with Vincentn going 4-for-4 with two doubels, four runs scored and five RBIs; Johnson 4-for-6 with two doubles, a triple and four runs scored, A. Steffensen 4-for-4 with four RBIs and J. Steffensen 3-for-5 withy a double and three run scored.

    Bridgette Horn and Gracie Haug, Castlewood — The Warriors downed Deuel 9-2 and lostto Bon Homme 14-4 and Dakota Valley 11-3. Horn went 3-for-4 with a double against Deuel, 2-for-3 against Bon Homme and 2-for-4 with two doubles against Dakota Valley. Haug went 3-for-4 with a double against Dakota Valley.

    Baseball

    Nathan Briggs, Markus Pitkin and Kaden Rylance, Watertown Post 17 — Post 17 improved to 14-2 on the season by handling Rapid City Post 320 10-0, 15-5 and 16-0 on Saturday and Sunday. Briggs went 5-for-7 with a double, homer, four runs and four RBIs on Saturday. Pitkin went 6-for-8 with a double, homer, five runs and three RBIs in the final two games. Rylance kicked of the weekend by tossing a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts in Saturday's opener.;

    Alec Mikkelsen, Logan Fischbach and Levi Little, Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern — WIN swept Hamlin Area 21-0 and 3-0 last week with Mikkelsen going 3-for-3 with five runs and Fischbach 4-for-5 with a double and four RBIs in the opener. Little fired the shutout with eight strikeouts in Game 2.

    Jyler Tharaldsen and Watson Grantham, Hamlin Area — In the doubleheader losses to WIN, Tharaldsen doubled in the opener and added two hits in the second game. Grantham pitched well in the loss, allowing only two earned runs with seven strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.

    Micah Zastrow, Erik Salmen and Kevin Weller, Redfield Area — Weller fanned 10 batters in six inning, Salmen homered and Zastrow went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in a 14-9 win over Elkton.

    Levi Loban, Sioux Valley — Loban doubled and singled in a 7-5 win over Groton Area.

    Colby Dunker, Groton Area — Dunker drove in two runs with two hits in a loss to Sioux Valley.

    Boys Tennis

    Matthew Bertsch and Justin Remmers, Watertown — The Arrows finished sixth in the state Class AA tourney with Bertsch finishing third at No. 6 singles and Remmers fourth at No. 3.

    Palmer Johnson, Landon Zikmund, Gannon May and Ezra Feickert, Aberdeen Roncalli — The Cavs took third in the state Class A tourney by getting third-place finishes from Johnson (No. 2 singles), Zikmund (No. 4 singles), Johnson-May (No. 1 doubles) and Zikmund and Cason Hellwig (No. 2 doubles). May took fourth at No. 3 singles and Feickert fourth at No. 6.
