    Groton Area outlasts Aberdeen Roncalli in another double-overtime battle

    MILBANK — Braylen Bowsher rushed for three of Milbank's six touchdowns in a 42-0 high school football victory over Northeast Conference rival Sisseton on Friday.

    The Bulldogs (3-3) led 34-0 at halftime and completed the game's scoring in the third quarter.

    Milbank rushed for 231 yards and five TDs. Bowsher found the end zone on runs of 8, 4 and 3 yards. Owen Tesch (1 yard) and Tate Schlueter (41 yards) and had TD runs and Jaxon Wiese hauled in a 49-yard pass from Lincoln Holscher. Tesch ran for 75 yards on 12 carries, Bowsher 56 on seven and Max Scoular 44 on seven.

    Emmett Hanson, Jesse Schneck, Keaton Johnson and Rashawn Gertsema-Collins each were involved in four tackles for Milbank's defense, which limited the Redmen (0-6) to 57 yards of offense. Gertsema-Collins and Sam Rick each intercepted passes.

    Jackson Wegener passed for 29 yards for Sisseton, which got three tackles apiece from Holden Hawkins and Mario Alvarez.

    Groton Area 29, Aberdeen Roncalli 23 (2 OTs)

    GROTON — Korbin Kucker tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Keegen Tracy in the second overtime to lift the Tigers (4-2) to the Northeast Conference win.

    Groton Area's defense then stopped Roncalli on fourth down at the 1-yard line.

    Kucker and Tracy also hooked up on scoring passes of 58 and 8 yards, who also scored on a 10-yard pass from Kucker to Christian Ehresmann and on a 20-yard field by Joao Nunez with 3:17 left in the fourth quarter that put Groton Area ahead 17-14.

    Roncalli tied the game on Aiden Fisher's 22-yard field goal with one second left. The Cavs also scord on a 7-yard run by Zane Backous and 1-yard run by Brody Weinmeister in regulation. Backous scored on a 3-yard run in the first overtime.

    Kucker completed 15 of 19 passes for 166 yards, teaming with Ehresmann four times for 47 yards and Tracy three for 68. Ehresmann also recorded 14 tackles, Brevin Fliehs nine and Tucker Hardy seven.

    Backous ran for 82 yards, Fisher passed for 140 and James Behan made three catchesfor 140 yards to lead Roncalli (4-2). Weinmeister had 12 tackles, Carter Samson 11 and Backous and Noah Kramer eight each.

    Aberdeen Central 48, Mitchell 8

    MITCHELL — Colby Dauwen ran, threw and caught a touchdown for the Golden Eagles (3-3). He scored on a 3-yard run, caught a 34-yard TD pass from Brayden Bowman and tossed an 18-yard scoring pass to Brody Aesoph.

    The Golden Eagles also scored on a 40-yard pass from Bowman to Karson Borge and on TD runs by Ridley Waldo (18 and 36 yards) and Max Borns (10 yards). Waldo finished with 127 yards rushing and Bowman completed 12 of 20 passes for 186 yards, connecting with Aesoph seven times for 93 yards and Borge three for 53.

    Mitchell (1-5) scored on a 32-yard pass from Jaxson Hartman to Parker Denne.

    Clark-Willow Lake 26, Deuel 7

    CLARK — Emmerson Larson ran for three touchdowns and passed to carry Clark-Willow Lake (5-1) to the Northeast Conference win.

    Larson ran 12 times for 125 yards and scored on runs of 19, 80 and 27 yards. He also went 7-for-12 passing for 125 yards, including a 9-yard scoring pass to Josh Kannegieter. Ernesto Garcia caught two passes for 55 yards and Kannegieter two for 49. Griffen Musser led the defense with eight tackles to go with an interception and a fumble recovery. Lincoln Reidburn made eight tackles and Elliot Bratland seven.

    Deuel (1-5) scored on a 1-yard run by Gavin Kloos, Owen Haas ran for 36 yards and Kloos 31. Gabe Sather (10 tackles plus an interception) and Reed VanWormer (eight tackles) paced the defense.

    Castlewood 52, Waverly-South Shore 3

    WAVERLY — Camron Eng had another huge game, 19 rushes for 183 yards and five touchdowns, to propel Castlewood (3-3) to victory. He scored on runs of 15, 4, 6, 35 and 15 yards.

    Brody Bass (67 yards) and Kamden Keszler (2 yards) added TD runs for the Warriors, who also scored on two safeties.

    Zach Ries passed for 126 yards, teaming with Sam Appelhof three times for 74 yards for WSS (3-4), which scored on a 47-yard field goal by Bryan Ramirez.

    Paul Everson made four tackles and joined Yader Munoz and Jarin Edison with fumble recoveries for Castlewood. Munoz, Bryon Laue and Eidson each had three tackles.

    Hamlin 64, De Smet 0

    De SMET — Evan Stormo scored four touchdowns in the win for the second-rated Class 9AA Chargers (7-0). He returned a punt 10 yards for a TD, hauled in scoring passes of 27 and 35 yards from Jackson Wadsworth and also ran for a 3-yard score.

    Mason Trowbridge scored on a 74-yard punt return and a 2-yard run for Hamlin, which also scored on a 10-yard pass from Boden Stevenson to Watson Grantham and a 4-yard run by Jonathan Leonardi. Hamlin went 8-for-8 on conversions.

    Hamlin scored 32 points in each of the first two quarters in the game, which ended because of the 50-point Mercy Rule. Stormo made nine tackles and Wadsworth eight.

    Slayten Wilkinson rushed 14 timesfor 59 yards for De Smet (2-4).

    Sioux Valley 31, Flandreau 13

    VOLGA — Brock Christopherson ran for two touchdowns and passed for another for the second-rated Class 11B Cossacks (6-0). He scored on runs of 1 and 12 yards and also connected with Mitchell Guthmiller on a 66-yard scoring pass.

    Sioux Valley also scored on a 97-yard kickoff return by Donovan Rose, who rushed 17 times for 102 yards. Christopherson ran 18 times for 87 yards.

    Flandreau (4-2) scored on a 5-yard pass from Paul Parsley to Luke Sheppard and on a 2-yard run by Alexavier Poitra. Parsley finished 11-for-24 passing for 128 yards.

    Guthmiller made eight tackles and Christopherson, Preston Top and Wyatt Nelson six each for Sioux Valley. Brody Haaland had an interception and Guthmiller, Christopherson and Nelson each recovered fumbles. Luke Sheppard had 12 tackles, Kody Kneebone eight and Ben Balllard seven for Flandreau, which got fumble recoveries from Gauge Ballard and Tyton Peters.

    Ipswich 42, Hitchcock-Tulare 8

    TULARE — Ipswich (4-2) ran for 329 yards in the win, getting three TD runs from Max Kulesa (2, 4 and 8 yards) and one each from Kyle Hettich (7 yards) and Shay Knust (6 yards).

    Hettich also scored on a 78-yard kickoff return. Kulesa ran 12 times for 114 yards, Hettich 15 for107 and Knutson seven for 72. Jaxon Holt caught three passes for 33 from Kulesa. Kulesa and Rasmus Loken each notched 11 tackles and Brody Davis nine.

    Hitchcock-Tulare (3-3) scored on a 3-yard run by Blaze Binger. Payton Charging Hawk tallied 15 tackles, Mikael Nielson 10 and Bingernine.

    Elkton-Lake Benton 42, Garretson 8

    GARRETSON — Colt Beck produced 197 yards of offense and was involved in three touchdowns for the third-rated Class 9AA Elks (6-0). He tossed two TD passes to Tanner Drietz and also added a TD run.

    Eliot Erickson (100 yards rushing), Tanner Stein (93 yards rushing) and Kaleb Larson also added TD runs for the ELB. Quintin Westley and Teigan Krog each were involved in eight tackles and Erickson seven. Riley Nordmeyer recovered a fumble.

    Chase Arend threw for 53 yards for Garretson (0-6).

    Corsica-Stickney 44, Sunshine Bible Academy 0

    MILLER — Waylon Bollie rushed nine times for 171 yards and three scores (47, 83 and 25 yards) for Corsica-Stickney.

    Caden Baumiller contributed 92 yards rushing and two TDs (39 and 48 yards). Tate Tolsma added a 35-yard TD receptions from Max VandenHoek.

    Hunter Sybesma and Toby Mickelson each recorded 10 tackles and Ross Vander Vorst eight for SBA (2-5), which was limited to 40 yards of offense.

    Warner 49, Redfield 0

    WARNER — Drew Bakeberg went 3-for-3 passing for 128 yards and three touchdowns for third-rated Class 9B Warner (6-0). Zack Evans (19 yards), Jesiah Baum (49 yards) and Devon Fischbach (60 yards) each hauled in scoring passes.

    Baum also scored on a 10-yard run, Gage Broderson on a 3-yard run and Payton Volk on runs of 1 and 3 yards. Volk rushed for 43 yards and Jack Williams 42. Williams also recorded seven tackles and Gage Knuppe and Hunter Robinsone ach six.

    Jackson Sandoz rushed for 21 yards for Redfield (0-7).

    Faulkton Area 43, North Central 0

    FAULKTON — Landon Coyle rushed for 91 yards and three touchdowns and Gian DiMaria tossed three TD passes for third-rated Class 9B Faulkton Area (4-2).

    Drake Mueller hauled in two 30-yard TD passes and Charlie Deiter a 21-yarder from DiMaria, who went 9-for-14 for 185 yards. Coyle scored on runs of 43 and 23 along with a short run. Kamryn Rhodes made six tackles and Coyle five.

    JadeJacobs rushed for 47 yards for North Central (1-5), which received eight tackles from Isaiah Heilman and six from Tim Rucker.

    Estelline-Hendricks 20, Deubrook Area 12

    ESTELLINE — Estelline-Hendricks improved to 4-2 with the Dakota Valley Conference win.

    Ty Landmark scored on a 50-yard runand Keithen Krier on a 10-yard run for Deubrook Area (1-5). Brady Gladis intercepted a pass.

    In other area South Dakota games on Friday, it was: Britton-Hecla 49, Waubay-Summit 0; Florence-Henry 20, Wilmot 8; Leola-Frederick Area won by forfeit over Northwestern; Herreid-Selby Area 32, Potter County 22; Colman-Egan 54, Oldham-Ramona-Rutland 8; Arlington 42, Iroquois-Lake Preston 20; Mobridge-Pollock 22, Webster Area 0. On Thursday, Lower Brule downed Tiospa Zina 50-0.

    In west central Minnesota games, it was Lac qui Parle Valley 34, MACCRAY 12; Dawson-Boyd 35, Canby 0; Rothsay 50, Ortonville 0; and Border West 48, Hillcrest Lutheran Academy 20. In North Dakota, Sargent County topped Tri-State 36-6.
