Aberdeen Roncalli places ninth, Milbank 10th in state A girls tennis tournament

RAPID CITY — St. Thomas More won three of the six singles flights and added a win in doubles to pull away for the team title in the state Class A girls tennis tournament on Thursday.

St. Thomas More topped the 11-team field with 488, followed by defending champion Sioux Falls Christian at 443. Area schools Aberdeen Roncalli (130) and Milbank (74.5) finished ninth and 10th, respectively.

Jenna Korstjens (first flight), Ashlynn Lamp (second flight) and Charlotte Swanson (sixth flight) each won consolation singles champions for Milbank on Tuesday.

Raley Haskell of Aberdeen Roncalli took sixth in the third flight of singles.
