    Watertown rolls, Hamlin wins battle of one-loss teams and No. 3 Warner downs No. 4 Hitchcock-Tulare

    SIOUX FALLS — Fifth-rated Class AA Watertown improved to 17-4 with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-28, 25-23) sweep over Sioux Falls Roosevelt in high school volleyball on Tuesday.

    Emery Thury's 21 kills and 13 digs led the Arrows. She also was 13-for-13 serving wtih two aces.

    Grace Corey contributed 34 assists and 10 digs and also was 17-17 serving. Anna Hirtz added eight kills, Madisyn Grimsrud seven kills and one solo and two block assists and Natalie Pearson eight digs.

    Watertown plays its first home matches in more than a month when it hosts Sioux Falls Lincoln on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and Sioux Falls Washington on Thursday, Oct. 17.

    • Castlewood 3, Florence-Henry 0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-23) — The Warriors received 16 assists and eight kills from Cassidy Kirwan; 16 assists, nine kills, four block assists and 10 digs from Claire Horn, 13 kills from Emmerson Carter; four block assists from Lilly Jacobsen; 11 digs from Nora Solberg and nine digs from Dayton Knecht.
