    Legion baseball: Fort defeated by Watertown in walk-off fashion

    WATERTOWN — Brady Lessner’s walk-off single in the seventh inning sent Watertown past Fort Atkinson’s Legion Post 166 19U baseball team 3-2 at Washington Park on Wednesday.

    Matthew Hammond singled to open the Watertown seventh, took second on Jayden Ninmann’s sacrifice bunt before scoring from second on Lessner’s hard-hit ground ball to center on a two-strike count.

    Fort got on the board first, scoring a one-out run in the third inning when Braden Hausen singled to center to bring Alexis Martinez around.

    Fort regained the lead on Hunter Green’s two-out RBI double to left in the fourth.

    Davis Cashin opened the Watertown fifth with a triple to center and came around on Hammond’s single to make it 2-all.

    Jordan Zahn started for Fort and pitched two scoreless innings. Trent Wilson gave up an unearned run in the third, Caleb Enger allowed an earned run on two hits in two frames before Mason Ketterhagen pitched the sixth and seventh in the loss, allowing a run on two hits.

    Fort plays four games in its home invitational this weekend, facing Janesville at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, followed by a 2 p.m. game versus Hartland and 6:30 p.m. game versus Little Chute on Saturday and an 11:30 a.m. game against Oconomowoc on Sunday.
