This is a significant development as it indicates his full recovery from the ACL injury that sidelined him in 2023. Serious Injury Reported in Motorboat Incident on Chautauqua Lake
One person was hospitalized with serious but non-life threatening injuries after getting struck by a motorboat while in the south basin of Chautauqua Lake on Saturday. The incident was called in shortly after 1:45 PM, with multiple agencies responding to the scene. According to the Lakewood Fire Department, dispatchers reported that the victim was removed from the water and was en route via private boat to Lakewood Beach with serious bleeding. On arrival, the victim was given immediate aid, then was removed from the boat and transported by STAT MedEvac. Assisting agencies included Lakewood-Busti Police, the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office WET Team and Navigation Unit, County Emergency Services and EMS, Celoron Fire and Bemus Point Fire.
GM of Westfield McDonald's Receives Outstanding Award
The general manager of a local fast food restaurant recently received an award during a surprise ceremony. Jenny Sobczak, who is the GM of the McDonald's location at 102 East Main Street in Westfield, was presented with a 2023 Outstanding General Manager Award from Empire Co-op, which is given to the top 10% of GMs across the nation. Sobczak's team, along with local owner-operator Dave Singelyn, congratulated her for the accomplishment.
