Two charged with hate crime for spray-painting over Israeli flag
Two men have been charged with hate crimes for allegedly spray-paining over an Israeli flag at the Bloomingdale Woodman’s grocery store. Tabshir Rizvi, 23, a resident of the 100 block of West Franklin Street in Bloomingdale, and Mohammed Faroun, 22, a resident of the 200 block of Bode Road in Hoffman Estates, have each been charged with two counts of committing a hate crime, a Class 4 felony; as well as misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.

Section of Noyes Street closed to traffic July 24-31
A series of crane lifts are planned for July 24 through July 31, excluding weekend days, to replace cell communication equipment on the roof of a building at 2225 Ridge Ave. Noyes Street will be closed to vehicle traffic in both directions at the 1000 block (between Ridge Avenue and Maple Avenue), from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day. Pedestrian traffic will also be obstructed in the immediate work area on the south side of Noyes Street. According to the crane contractor, the alleys will remain unobstructed during this scope of work.
