    Boys lacrosse: Undefeated Warriors blast Watertown, Milton

    The latest ranked team to fall to No. 1 Waunakee in boys’ lacrosse is Madison.

    Adrian Millin peppered Madison with four goals, while Charlie King had a hat trick in an 11-5 win on Monday, May 13.

    The Knights entered the game ranked 10th, but after a tight first half, Waunakee (15-0) overpowered Madison with seven second-half goals. The score was 4-2 at halftime.

    Others with goals for Waunakee included Sam Hogland, Joey Thomas, Alex Mikkelson and Brandon Sawicki, who also notched three assists. Mikkelson finished with two helpers.

    Millin totaled five points on the night, as he also recorded an assist.

    Cole Savola led the way in groundballs with seven, as Hogland finished with three.

    Nate Olsen had seven saves in net.

    Waunakee 18, Watertown 0Scoring nine goals in the first quarter, the Warriors overwhelmed the Goslings, as King tallied four goals and Gunnar McFadden had a hat trick.

    McFadden also had an assist, as Millin and Brandon Sawicki finished with two goals and a helper each. Among the other Warriors with goals were Ethan Evans, who also had two assists, and Justin Sawicki, Isaac Margala, Mikkelson and Gabe Samuelson. Mikkelson and Samuelson also recorded assists.

    Thomas, Margala and Logan Ehle all had three groundballs apiece.

    Olsen and Isaac Schultz combined for six saves in earning the shutout.

    Waunakee 16, Sun Prairie 1McFadden erupted for five goals and an assist to lead the Warriors.

    Mikkelson and Justin Sawicki scored two goals apiece, while Brandon Sawicki, Taggert McKelvey, Evans, Millin, Thomas and King also had goals. McKelvey totaled three assists, as well, as Brandon Sawicki dished out two assists.

    Millin totaled six ground balls, and Margala finished with five. Olsen collected five saves in the win.
