The Waunakee JV boys' soccer team hosted seven other teams Saturday at the pitch for their 2024 JV Invitational.

Waunakee fell in their first game to Madison Memorial after a penalty kick shootout.

But the Warriors would bounce-back in game 2 against Milwaukee Rufus King.

Dane Harris, Matthew Lenerz, Alexis Reyes and Brennan Lezotte all scored in a 4-0 Waunakee rout.

In their third and final game, Waunakee rallied to defeat Arrowhead High School. Trailing 1-0 in the second half, Waunakee’s Jack Blitz scored off a Lezotte pass to tie it.

The Warriors would once again go to a penalty kick shootout to determine the outcome. But this time, Simon Ryba’s goalkeeping and Lenerz, Blitz, Brady Stephens and Patrick Delgado all put their penalty kicks home for the win.

Madison West would eventually win the Invitational title over Oregon.

Waunakee (10-3) next plays Tuesday at the Pitch against Fort Atkinson
