    Gymnastics: Lee wins all-around at Middleton Invite

    Annika Lee was the all-around champion at Saturday’s Middleton Invitational.

    Leading the way for the Waunakee/DeForest gymnastics co-op, Lee won the all-around with a score of 36.600, after taking first in the vault (9.550) and the balance beam (9.425) and finishing second in the uneven bars (8.600) and the floor exercise (9.025).

    Kaitlyn Roundy also turned in a strong performance, ending up fifth in the bars (7.925) and tied for seventh in the vault (8.300). Brooke Yecoshenko was 18th in the beam (7.625), as she also tied with Roundy for 18th in the floor (7.900).

    The Waunakee/DeForest co-op was fifth in the team standings with a score of 126.800. Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln (125.850), Waukesha West/Waukesha South (120.525) and Janesville Parker (108.950) finished behind Waunakee/DeForest. Oconomowoc took first as a team with 131.675 points. It was an eight-team meet.

    Again, Lee topped the field in the all-around competition, scoring a 35.625. She won three of four events, including the floor (9.000), bars (8.950) and the vault (9.325), and took second in the beam (8.350).

    Roundy was third in the bars (7.725), and Yecoshenko finished fifth in the floor (8.350), while Jordan Misterek was fifth in the vault (8.175). Violet Marx ended up sixth in the beam (6.600).
