    June 4 golf results from the Lake Ripley Country Club Women's Organization and flag race

    On Tuesday, June 11, the Lake Ripley Women’s Organization ran their first tournament, a Flag Race competition.

    Each player added their handicap to the course par of 70 and golfed until they used up all their strokes.

    This year’s 18-hole Flag Race title went to Wendy Lehr and the 9-hole Flag Race winner is Evie Lund.

    There were 18-hole play of the day winners for low net and putts. In Flight 1, April Mickelson was first for low net with a tie for low putts with Sue Repyak. In Flight 2, Rita King and Pat Clifford tied for first place low net and low putts.

    First place low net in Flight 3 went to Wendy Lehr with low putts taken by Cindy Hartman. Birdies were made by Pat Clifford and Lisa Nelson both of #7. There was only one sunken approach by Cindy Hartman on #13.

    The 9-hole golfers also had low net/low putt winners. In Flight 1 Marti Tenzer and low putts. Second place had a 3-way tie for low net between Karen Baumgartner, Connie Bergsven and Virginia Newcomb. Virginia also had second place low putts.

    In Flight 2 Jane Spindler had low net and tied with Sue Adas and Pam Reich for low putts. Jackie Slinde took second place low net and with a tie for low putts between Pat Gahan and Carol Schneider.

    In Flight 3, first place low net went to Evie Lund who also took low putts. Second place went to Mary Heynis who took both low net and low putts as well. Pat Gahan had a sunken approach on #6 and Evie Lund sunk one on #3.

    Bridge results for this week include: 1) Virginia Newcomb, 2) Betty Reay, 3) Charlene Cederberg and 4) Carol Schneider. Virginia Newcomb and Carol Schneider also had a small slam this week.

    Results from June 4

    Ladies golf is now in “full swing” for the summer. On Tuesday, June 4, the 18-hole golfers had a shot gun start.

    The play of the day was a 4-Ball, Best 2-Net. There were three team winners including in first place Rita King, Carol Zimbric, Wendy Lehr and Marlene Lee.

    Second place was Lisa Nelson, Betty Reay, Cindy Hartman and Kayla Sipple. Third Place was taken by Sue Repyak, Peggy Davis, Gail Holmberg and Denise Lind. Although there were no birdies, there were two sunken approaches, one by Sue Repyak on #1 and Gail Holmberg on #2.

    The 9-hole golfers jumped into full swing off the back 9 this week. In Flight 1 Karen Baumgartner took low net and Mary Ann Zwaska was second.

    Low putts in Flight 1 had a 3-way tie between Karen Baumgartner, Mary Ann Zwaska and Marti Tenzer. Second place low putts went to Connie Bergsven.

    In Flight 2, Pam Reich had low net and low putts, second in the flight was Jackie Slinde with low putts taken by Sue Buell.

    Flight 3 was captured by Julie West this week with a tie for low putts between Jane Spindler and Evie Lund. Betty Litscher had a sunken approach on #14 and Pam Reich had a birdie on #18.

    Betty Litscher took first place in bridge, second place, Patricia Cook; third to Jan Niebler and fourth to Sarah Baird.

    Euchre was back in action with the following results: 1) Carol Zimbric tie with Beth Crouch, 3) Mary Maynard, and 4) Pat New.
