The Lake Ripley Country Club Women’s Organization had 29 guests for their annual Guest Day held on Tuesday, June 25. The day started with an 8:15 AM shotgun and 56 golfers braving the humidity to play. Players enjoyed a 6-6-6 golf format including a drop out scramble, alternate shots and best ball with three par 5 scores filled by rolling the dice.

The theme for the event was “Flower Power” and attendees wore tie dye and/or floral patterned attire. The dining room was decorated with beautiful flower arrangements, tie dye runners on the white tablecloths and handmade flowers throughout. Lunch consisted of a salad bar with fresh fruit, pork tenderloin and crispy chicken with gravy and mashed potatoes. Carrot cake topped off the meal. Raffle tickets were sold for cash prizes throughout the event and both guests and members enjoyed cash prizes along with flag prizes awarded by the golf committee.

After lunch euchre, bridge and dominoes were enjoyed by both members and guests. Euchre results included 1. Mary Maynard, 2. Pat New, and a tie for 3. Brandy Enger and Karen Rozinski with another tie of 5. Jan McCarthy and Sue Beard. Bridge results included 1. Connie Goede, 2. Carol Schneider, 3. Edith Lorenz, and 4. Virginia Newcomb. Carol Schneider and Judy Kuykendoll had a small slam.
