    JULY 19: CHAMBER FRIDAY PERK

    The Waunakee Chamber of Commerce invites members and potential new members to attend its Chamber Friday Perk, a casual and fun networking event hosted by the staff at Waunakee Village Hall on from 8:30 — 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 19. It will offer the opportunity stop in and meet other business professionals, promote your business, and learn about opportunities in the community. This event is free to all businesspeople and leaders of service and nonprofit organizations. Bring your business cards and stop by for a cup of coffee and a behind the scenes tour of the newly renovated Village Hall.     JULY 20: LOCAL GOVERNMENT TOWN HALL

    Elected local representatives from the Waunakee School Board, Village Board and County Board will hold a Public Town Hall Meeting at the Waunakee Public Library on July 20 at 1 p.m. Dave Boetcher (Dane County Board Supervisor, Waunakee), Dawn Heinrichs (WCSD Board Member) and Robert McPherson (Waunakee Village Board), will hold a Town Hall Meeting to discuss current issues in local government and to hear from local constituents. Other elected representatives may attend but are not confirmed.

    JULY 23: LIVE FROM THE PARK

    The No Name String Band will play from 6-8 p.m. July 23 at the Village Park Gazebo as part of the Waunakee Live from the Park series. Food carts will arrive at 5:30 p.m.

    JULY 24: WAUNAKEE FARMERS MARKET

    The Waunakee Farmers and Makers Market will be at Reeve Park near the Waunakee Depot from 3-6 p.m. July 24. The market runs Wednesdays through mid October.

    JULY 25: FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY MEETING

    The Friends of the Waunakee Public Library will meet on Thursday, July 25, at 6:30 p.m. in the second floor Overlook at the Waunakee Public Library. Upcoming events to plan for include include the Wine Taste Party, Election Bake Sale, Holiday Craft Fair, and more. Everyone is welcome. Bring a new Friend!     JULY 25: WAUNAKEE COMMUNITY BAND CONCERT

    The Waunakee Community Band will present its last concert on Thursday, July 25, at 7 p.m. at the Waunakee Intermediate School due to construction at the high school. This is the Pie and Ice Cream concert with refreshments supplied by the WCB members, starting at 5:45.

    JULY 25-28: WAUNAFEST

    WaunaFest, Waunakee's community festival, will run Thursday-Sunday, July 25-28. For a list of all activities throughout the weekend, including live music, tournaments, the arts and craft show and parade, visit https://waunafest.org .

    JULY 27: WAUNAFEST RUN

    The WaunaFest Run will be Saturday morning, July 27. To register, visit the website https://waunafestrun.com.

    AUG. 1: WAUNAKEE MEMORY CAFE

    Waunakee’s Dementia Friendly Committee will sponsor its monthly Memory Café on Thursday, Aug. 1, from 9:30 - 11 a.m. at the Steeplechase Condominium Clubhouse, 5636 Conway Glen (off Woodland Drive). Signs will be posted to direct people to the Clubhouse. The Café’s theme will be “Dog Days of Summer.” Officer Brent Schmidt of the Waunakee Police Department and the department’s dog Ozzy will talk about how Ozzy helps the department in its duties. The Café provides a social gathering place and programs for those with mild cognitive impairment or early to mid-stage dementia, along with their family members or friends. Participants do not have to be residents of Waunakee; all are welcome! Further information is available by calling the Waunakee Senior Center at (608) 849-8385.

    AUG. 7: NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

    The Waunakee Police Department will host National Night Out on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Village Park on Main Street from 5 — 7 p.m. with a cookout and demonstrations from other emergency response agencies.
