    SPASH's Grant Chandonais wins Menke GMC Athlete of the Week poll for Sept. 23-29

    The Menke GMC Athlete of the Week poll winner for Sept. 23-29 was SPASH quarterback Grant Chandonais.

    Chandonais played a stellar game under center, completing 20-of-26 passing for 182 passing yards and three touchdowns.

    He added 76 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns into the fold, finishing with five total.

    In second place was D.C. Everest running back Blake Bangston notched his fifth consecutive 100-yard rushing game with a 139-yard rushing performance on 14 carries; he also found the endzone for two rushing touchdowns and a 25-yard receiving touchdown.

    Following Bangston, Stratford quarterback Jack Tubbs completed a stellar 14-of-17 for 403 yards and four touchdown passing performance, finishing with a 158.3 passer rating.

    Tubbs also added a rushing touchdown and five total tackles out of the safety position.

    Irvin Aguilera (Abbotsford football), Treve Stoffel (Mosinee football), Blake Raab (Auburndale football), Jameson Krueger (Pittsville football), and Tucker Streit (Edgar football) were also nominated for the end of September poll.

    The Menke GMC Athlete of the Week poll is open every Monday morning until Thursday at noon. Nominations may be e-mailed to alfred.smith@gannett.com by 9 p.m. on Saturday to be considered for that week.
