    Wausau Pilot & Review

WAUSAU – D.C. Everest pitcher Nate Langbehn struck out 16 and allowed just one run over six innings in a 3-1 win over Wausau in American Legion baseball action Thursday night at Athletic Park.

Dylan Dobratz and Jack Barthels singled in the fifth inning for two of the three hits allowed by Langbehn, with Dobratz scoring on an error after the Barthels hit.

That would be it for Wausau (13-19, 3-10 Wisconsin Valley Legion Conference). Keagen Jirschele earned the save for D.C. Everest, striking out the side around a single and an error.

Jirschele had an RBI triple and scored on a single by Colin Ebersold in the third inning, and Ziebell doubled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Schlei in the sixth to provide D.C. Everest (11-7, 8-6 WVLC) with all the offense it needed.

Lucas Hager went the distance on the mound for Wausau, striking out nine.

Wausau will play a non-league doubleheader at Viroqua on Saturday beginning at noon.
