WAUSAU – The Friends of Wausau Historic Landmarks will continue their season of architecture and history tours with a walk through through the West River District at 6:30 p.m. today, July 25.

The tour will begin at the corner of Second Avenue and Callon Street.

This tour will highlight the architecture, history and culture of the area, including neighborhood taverns, a dairy, a fish monger, a chapel turned technical school, Fire Station 2 and more. This neighborhood has been a hub since the late 1800s.

Remember to dress for the weather and be sure to wear good walking shoes as there will be some uneven surfaces.

As always, the tour is free and open to all ages. Donations are always appreciated.
