A federal judge on Thursday signed a warrant for the arrest of a 45-year-old Wausau man accused in a major drug trafficking scheme, the same day he was indicted by a grand jury.

Bee Her will face charges of distributing more than 50 grams of methamphetamine in the U.S. Western District Court of Wisconsin. A news release from the U.S. Dept. of Justice alleges Her distributed the drugs over a 10-day span in October 2023.

Her has a long criminal history outlined with multiple prior felony convictions for drug-related crimes. In 2014, Her was convicted of mistreating animals leading to death related to an illegal cockfighting and gambling operation. He was sentenced to probation in that case.

While on probation, Her was arrested again and in 2015, was convicted of child enticement after he asked a 6-year-old girl if she wanted ice cream, then lead her to a wooded area, blindfolded her and forced her to perform a sex act.

He spent six years in prison and was released in 2021 on extended supervision. He is also on the sex offender registry.

Her’s illegal activity only continued, according to court records.

In February 2023, Her was convicted again of methamphetamine possession and was given a withheld sentence for three years of probation. The alleged drug trafficking that led to this week’s federal charges happened just eight months later, while Her was on probation for the 2023 conviction.

In June 2024, Her’s probation was revoked and he was ordered to spend one year in the Marathon County Jail. Prosecutors in Marathon County filed meth distribution charges against Her the following month. He remains behind bars.

If he is convicted, Her faces a mandatory minimum of five years in federal prison. The maximum penalty is a 40-year term.

You are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
