Start planning your costumes. Spirit Halloween will open store this week in Wausau

WAUSAU – We may be in the height of summer, but it’s time to start planning ahead for Halloween.

Spirit Halloween is returning to Wausau this season and will open Friday at 1740 U.S. 51, in the former Nigbur’s Fine Furniture building, next to Taco Bell.

Spirit Halloween secures short-term leases at various vacant locations and begins opening stores in August and September, giving shoppers a few months to browse through a variety of Halloween décor, costumes, props, accessories, party supplies and more. The building leases typically run from mid-July through mid-November.

The seasonal store has opened in the Wausau area in previous years, including in the former Olson’s Floor Covering building on Rib Mountain Drive.

Spirit Halloween confirmed to the Wausau Daily Herald the list of this year’s 16 Spirit Halloween locations in Wisconsin. In central Wisconsin, the company will also open a site in Wisconsin Rapids.
