Wausaukee boxers to compete in Golden Gloves tourney

WAUSAUKEE — Two members of the Wausaukee Boxing Club will participate in the Wisconsin State Golden Gloves Tournament in Madison.

Heavyweight Nicholas Andrekopoulos and Middleweight Avery FoxSparrow are making their boxing debuts in the Novice division.

“These two have been working hard over the past twelve weeks, preparing for this tournament. I really think they have a shot at winning the state title,” Wausaukee Boxing Club coach Augie Magestro said. “It’s going to be a real pleasure being in their corner. I can’t wait to see how all their effort has paid off for them.”

The two-day tournament takes place at the Madison Marriott West Hotel on March 29 and 30, with action getting underway both days at 6 p.m.
