    Pitching shines in wins for Coleman, Oconto baseball squads

    WAUSAUKEE — Logan Lamine spun a web gem as the Coleman baseball team blanked Wausaukee 6-0 in Marinette and Oconto Conference action on Thursday.

    Lamine hurled a complete game shutout and gave up just one hit across seven innings of work, a single to Kayden Suennen.

    Lamine was otherwise unhittable, giving up just one walk while striking out seven.

    Coleman grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first and blew the doors wide open with a six-run fifth inning before tacking on a final insurance run in the top of the sixth.

    The Cougars were held to just two hits but walked six times and took advantage of five Wausaukee errors in the process.

    Conner Schroeder was the losing pitcher despite not allowing a hit in five innings pitched. He issued five free passes and permitted seven runs (two earned) along with eight strikeouts.

    Wausaukee 6, Three Lakes/Phelps 4

    WAUSAUKEE — Wausaukee got back into the winning column with a 6-4 non-conference win over Three Lakes/Phelps on Friday.

    The Rangers overcame two deficits, scoring two runs in the bottom of the third to seize a 2-1 lead before rallying from two runs down in the bottom of the third, making it a 5-4 affair.

    Wausaukee plated one final run in the bottom of the sixth and let Callahan Betts do the rest on the mound, as the junior pitcher shut down the Blue Jays in the seventh inning to secure the victory.

    Betts notched the save while Ryan Wojcik picked up the win with four hits allowed in three innings thrown.

    Wojcik and Luke Smith both collected RBIs for the Rangers. Christian Deschaine had two base hits and also stole a base.

    Oconto 6, Crivitz 1

    OCONTO — Two pitchers combined for a no-hitter in Thursday’s non-conference matchup between Oconto and Crivitz, and the result was a 6-1 triumph for the Blue Devils.

    Riley Susa and Cooper Campshure kept the Wolverines off-balance all afternoon, with Susa picking up the win after striking out five and walking four in four innings pitched.

    Campshure covered the other three innings and was just as untouchable, racking up five punchouts against three walks.

    Crivitz’s lone run came in the top of the third after Tegan Werner worked a leadoff walk before coming around to score and knotting the score up at 1-1 in the process.

    It was all Oconto from there, as the Blue Devils plated four runs in their half of the third before adding another run in the bottom of the fourth.

    Oconto tallied five hits, two of them courtesy of Collin Bauman, while Levi Bierl had a pair of RBIs.

    Jackson Schramm took the loss for the Wolverines after giving up five runs (one earned), two hits and three walks through three innings.

    Logan Marvin had a pair of walks for Crivitz.
