A home in Bowler is a total loss after an early morning fire Saturday, according to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department.

Two people were inside the home on County Hwy. A when the blaze broke out at about 7 a.m. Aug. 17. Both occupants escaped safely and no one was injured, officials said.

Investigators are working to pinpoint the cause of the blaze and say the home is structurally unsound. A portion of Hwy. A near the Stockbridge-Munsee Health and Welness Center remained closed late Saturday morning while crews remained at the scene. Detour signs are posted.

    This is a developing story.

The Pilot often relies on reports from police officials in control of a crime, fire or crash scene during a breaking news event. While these initial reports are valuable to readers, they also can be incomplete and even inaccurate. We let readers know what we can and can’t confirm, as well as when and how we received our information. Then we work to aggressively gather a wider range of perspectives and to verify the information through public records, interviews, photos and videos, all of which are verified before publishing.
