Make A BIG Difference! Saturday, October 26 is Make A Difference Day! For elderly and disabled homeowners, seasonal lawn presents a significant challenge. United Way of Marathon County wants to help relieve that worry by coordinating volunteers to rake these yards. Gather your group and register with Carly at [email protected] or 715-298-5719. To register your yard to be raked, call 211 during business hours now until Sept. 30.

Is Your Dog Therapy Certified? Heartland Hospice is looking for volunteers and their therapy dogs to provide companionship and social interaction for patients who enjoy animals and would like visitors. All dogs must be current on vaccines and certification. Contact Mary if you have questions about this opportunity or the certification process at 715-344-4541 or [email protected].

Do You Have Retail Experience? We need your help! Join the Aspirus volunteer team at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital Gift Shop. The shop is staffed almost 100 percent by volunteers who are fun, friendly and great to work with. Help patients, family members, and staff find that perfect gift or item for purchase and learn how to use our cash register system. All proceeds from sales benefit Aspirus volunteer programs and services for patients and families. Schedules are flexible, and hours that are available run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday. Email [email protected] for more information or with any questions.

Are You Tech Savvy? You can help your elderly and disabled neighbors stay in their homes. Aspirus Wausau Hospital seeks volunteers to install patients’ personal help button and Lifeline unit and show them how to use it. Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license. Training provided. Call 715-847-2876 to inquire or apply online at www.aspirus.org/aspirus-volunteers.
