UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal northwoods ATV crash

The man who died Sunday in an ATV crash in Oneida County has been identified as Jay T. Zeivel, 66, of Hazelhurst.

The crash was reported at about 6:15 p.m. Aug. 25 on Lakewood Road near Sand Lake Road in the town of Cassian. Police say the man missed a curve before striking a telephone pole.

Witnesses attempted life saving measures, however, the driver died at the scene. No other passengers or vehicles were involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.
