    Wausau Pilot & Review

As October settles in, Granite Peak Ski Area in Wausau transforms into a prime destination not just for skiers, but for those seeking a breathtaking view of central Wisconsin’s vibrant fall foliage.

Fall chairlift rides at Granite Peak, 227200 Snowbird Ave., have been extended for an additional weekend.

Chairlift rides, which provide a sweeping panorama of the greater Wausau community, have become an increasingly popular way for both locals and visitors to experience the area’s natural beauty. With leaves at their peak color, the rides offer an unparalleled vantage point to take in the vivid tapestry of oranges, reds, and yellows blanketing the landscape.

This year’s autumn has been especially striking, thanks to the ideal mix of sunny days and cool nights that enhance the colors of the season. The chairlift experience allows riders to glide above the treetops, offering a peaceful and awe-inspiring way to connect with nature. For many, it’s become an annual tradition, combining outdoor recreation with a chance to savor one of the region’s most spectacular displays of seasonal beauty.
