Scammer tries to withdraw money from senior's account
Monroeton, Pa. — An 81-year-old woman gave her banking information to a scammer pretending to be an online lender, police say. The scammer tried withdrawing money from the victim's accounts after the Monroeton woman gave them her bank account information last week, according to Trooper Daniel Kopec of state police at Towanda. It's a reminder to never give out personal information during an unsolicited telephone call, email, or tex message, Kopec warns.
