    NRHA opens waitlist for two apartment communities

    NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority has opened its waitlist for Church Street Station single-room occupancy apartments and Grandy Village four-bedroom apartments.

    It should be noted that Church Street Station is open to the homeless only.

    The income eligibility requirements Church Street Station are listed below.

    To qualify for Grandy Village, heads of household and all household members 18 or older must work a minimum of 15 hours per week (with the exception of full-time students) for a minimum of six months.

    This qualification does not apply to the elderly and disabled or primary caretakers of a blind or disabled person as defined by the Social Security Act.

    The income eligibility requirements for Grandy Village are listed below.

    Waitlists for both apartments opened Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 9 a.m. and will close Tuesday March 19 at 4 p.m.

    Applicants can apply by computer or smartphone at nrha.myhousing.com . A hard copy application can be downloaded at www.nrha.us .

    Hard copy applications can be mailed to Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority,
    Attention: Occupancy Department, P. O. Box 968, Norfolk, VA 23501. Applications can also be hand delivered Monday – Friday from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. to 555 E. Main Street, Norfolk, First Floor Lobby in the Occupancy dropbox.

    Applications sent by fax, Federal Express or certified mail will not be accepted. Fax is accepted as a reasonable accommodation for persons with disabilities only. For questions, call 757-624-8615, TDD: 1-800-545-1833.
