NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Nearly all of your favorite Norfolk Greek Festival delicacies are available this weekend in a drive-thru event, but you’ll have to wait until next year for the full festival.

That’s right, the big tent, dancing and — sadly, the loukoumades — will have to wait until May 2025.

Organizers say they wanted to move the festival back to the spring, but there were logistical challenges to make it happen this year. The last two festivals have been held in October.

You’ll still be able to get your gyros, spanakopita, dolmades and more twice this year from the comfort of your car. The first drive-thru event at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 7220 Granby Street started at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16 and goes through 7:30 p.m. The Friday and Saturday drive-thru have the same hours.

You can order online ahead of time , or also fill out a paper form in-person.

Organizers say they’re also looking to do a similar drive-thru weekend in the fall.

For more information about the event, including the menu, visit its website.
