Wasserhund Chesapeake’s Anniversary

Saturday, Aug. 17 at Wasserhund Brewing Company, 510 Belaire Ave

Celebrate three years at the brewery all-day long. There will be a limited releases available, limited addition merchandise and more. Celebrate with food, fun and more!

Exoticon Chesapeake

Saturday, Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chesapeake Conference Center

Exoticon is back in Chesapeake. The Exotic Pet Expo will have a mix of reptiles, amphibians, mammals and more. See animals you don’t typically see. Tickets are available at the door and cost $10 per person. Children 10 and under are free.

Newport News

All-America City Celebration at Made in Newport News

Saturday, Aug. 17 from 4 – 9:15 p.m. at City Center at Oyster Point

Celebrate the city making the achievement of “All-America City” by the National Civic League. There will be a parade with local organizations and more live performances all-day, including marching bands and drumlines from Newport News Public Schools. Enjoy performances from bands and groups throughout the event. There will be a drone show on Saturday night.

Norfolk

41st Annual Norfolk Waterfront Jazz Festival

Aug. 16-17 from 5-11 p.m. at Town Point Park, Downtown Norfolk Waterfront; Tickets for purchase

In it’s 41st year, it has brought jazz music to the downtown waterfront. The two-day festival will showcase jazz stars. Here’s the lineup, below:

Teddy Bear Clinic

Saturday, Aug. 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk; included in zoo admission

Bring your favorite stuffed animal for a check-up at the zoo! The event aims to help reduce kids’ anxieties about visiting the doctor and teach the importance of regular medical care. There will be kitchen chats, check-up stations in the event pavilion, health and care activities and more.

Norfolk Flea After Dark

Friday, Aug. 16 from 5-10 p.m. at COVA Brewing Company, 9529 Shore Dr.

This weekend, Norfolk Flea After Dark returns to East Beach Ocean View. Shop through over 80 vendors and enjoy food trucks. There will be a mix of vendors selling vinyl records, vintage goods, jewelry and more. Shop, mingle and enjoy the Friday night at the brewery.
