Flags ordered to be flown at half-staff for former First Lady of Virginia’s passing

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Gov. Glenn Youngkin has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff on all state and local buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth of Virginia on Friday.

The order is to honor the memory of Roxane Gatling Gilmore, former First Lady of Virginia.

“I hereby order that the flags shall be lowered at sunrise on Friday, August 16, 2024, and remain at half-staff until sunset.”
