2023 Record : 15-0 (Class 4 State Champions)

Starters returning : 7 on offense, 7 on defense

Key players : Sophomore Quarterback Maurikus Banks, Senior Linebackers Brenden Thompson, Kaleb Tillery

The Phantoms were perfect last season, capturing the Class 4 state championship in the most dramatic and exciting way possible. Sophomore quarterback Maurikus Banks aired it out with time expiring to take down Salem and capture their third straight championship.

This year, Phoebus will look for an historic fourth-straight title with 14 returning starters. Head coach Jeremy Blunt isn’t afraid to talk about the four-peat with the guys, but knows hard work and focus is the only thing that will get them back to that point.

“We’re not going to surprise the kids talking about making history,” Blunt said. “The expectations at this school are big. We’re going to continue to work this thing day-by-day. It sounds boring, but it keeps us focused on the mission at hand. Every day, every second, every period is important. That’s just how we live around here.”
