NPD to host social media safety event for students

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Norfolk Police Department (NPD) will host an event for social media safety on Saturday, Aug. 17.

NPD’s Safe Scrolls event is designed to bring awareness to the dangers of social Media as kids across Hampton Roads prepare for the new school year. The event is for students in grades 6th through 12th.

Parents are encouraged to attend the event which takes place from noon to 2 p.m. at Maury High School, 322 Shirley Ave. in Norfolk.

Additionally, school supply donations will be accepted at this event.
