2023 Record: 4-6

Starters Returning: 8 on offense, 9 on defense

Notable Players: QB Joedee Shelton, RB Nakeem Jones, WR Matthew Outten, DB Fredarico Staten

After an 8-win season on 2022, the Greyhounds took a step back last season, finishing with a 4-6 record that included a late four-game losing streak that included three losses by a combined 12 points. Hawkins returns an experienced squad that will be highlighted by running back Nakeem Jones, who has offers from West Virginia and UConn, and wide receiver Matthew Outten, who has committed to play at Virginia Tech. The Greyhounds should bounce back from last season and be a contender for the 3A region title.

Hawkins said Norcom will have a successful season if … “If we execute and do the things that are taught throughout the week, and we execute them on Friday night, we should be playing in December.”

Jones offered his answer on the same question. “Norcom will have a successful season, no if, we’re gonna do it. We’re about to do it this year, we’re about to win a state.”
