    An angel gets her ‘swings’; volunteers build play set for child battling cancer

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Volunteers gathered on Saturday to help surprise a little girl fighting cancer with a new play area.

    5-year-old Lilah was diagnosed back in March. The Chartway Promise Foundation and Chartway Credit Union gathered their volunteers and trudged through the rain to help build a new playground in Lilah’s backyard.

    Chartway teamed up with the ROC Solid Foundation to make the surprise possible.

    Despite her battle with cancer, Lilah was no quitter as she jumped in on the action to help assemble the parts. While angels may get their wings, Lilah finally got her swings.
