Multi-vehicle crash causes delays near Newtown Rd.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A multi-vehicle crash caused delays near Newtown Road early Wednesday morning.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, the west inside left shoulder, left lane and right shoulder were closed on I-264 near Newtown Road as a result of the crash. All lanes have since reopened.

So many cars drive fast through there. They don’t come off the gas pedal from 70 miles an hour. It’s not surprising that there are crashes there. VDOT did a great job redesigning the highway. The transitions are so much better. But you can’t get people to slow down. And they’re dangerous.
