    NN man sentenced for being a felon in possession of a gun

    NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A Newport News man was sentenced on Thursday to three years and one month in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

    According to court documents, on Jan. 25, 2022, 33-year-old Antonio James Hill sold a .38 caliber handgun and five rounds of ammunition to a confidential informant for $200. During this controlled purchase, Hill had another firearm on his person.

    Hill was previously convicted of malicious wounding and use or display of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He also was convicted of assaulting a corrections officer while incarcerated for the prior felony convictions. As a felon, Hill cannot legally possess a firearm or ammunition.

    in that case I understand..but what if his felony wasn't violent with a gun. over 20 yrs ago..? In this day and age how do they protect themselves when yall can't keep guns outta the hands of people that's killing?
