Since Sept. 13, police have been called to eight businesses in the Ocean View area for reports of commercial burglary alarms. Officers arrived to find that the businesses had been broken into, and items were missing.

As a result of their investigation, detectives have charged Jose Rodriguez Chavez, 33, with eight counts of burglary and two counts of petit larceny.

Rodriguez Chavez was taken into custody on Sept. 25 by Hampton Police, and he is currently being held in the Hampton City Jail without bond.
